Overview

Dr. Steve Wood, would like to welcome you to Wood Orthodontics in Weatherford, TX!

Dr. Wood’s family has been in Texas for 130 years and in the Weatherford area for more than 60 years! However, growing up in Texas and watching his father do orthodontics, Dr. Wood, decided that he would like to follow in his father’s footsteps and help the people of Weatherford, Texas achieve their desired smile.

Before he started practicing, he got his Dental Surgery degree from the Medical College of Virginia and then completed his certificate in orthodontics at the University of Maryland Dental School.

Furthermore, Dr. Wood is the definition of a family man! Plus, he loves to spend time with his wife and his four beautiful children. Moreover, he is also quite the athlete. He was an All-American swimmer who qualified for the 1980 and 1984 USA Olympic Swimming Trials while attending Auburn University, earning his bachelor’s.

He is still a competitive swimmer and has also set more than 20 Master Swimming World Records! Don’t challenge him to a race! Dr. Wood and his family love the outdoors and love to stay active by cycling and running. Coincidentally, he is also a big fan of woodworking!

Dr. Wood is very dedicated to his career as an Orthodontist and loves being able to serve the people of Weatherford, Texas. Furthermore, he loves to serve his community. He loves our community so much that he was nominated and awarded Weatherford Citizen of the Year in 2007.

Dr. Wood takes pride in and enjoys helping all of his patients evolve to a place where they love their smiles and are more self-confident. However, you won’t find another person as dedicated to helping you have a great smile and helping the people of this town as much as Dr. Wood.

From the office staff, helping find the perfect appointment, or simply responding to my text because I forgot when our next appointment is, to the assistants explaining how things work and being very fast and efficient with my son’s braces. I feel that I can not say enough about Dr. Wood to let everyone know how this man operates his business is top notch. His care and compassion for his clients and his staff, and of course his excellent work, really make us All smile! Thank you.
Yet again, Wood Orthodontics, continues to show me how the world should operate. With the doc himself, helping me understand even the simplest of things, with a caring and kind tone. AND, I don’t think his staff get enough recognition for the amount of every day office stuff that goes on. The girls at the front desk, OMG, kisses to them. Due to continued icy conditions our office will be closed on Monday, January 26 and Tuesday, January 27. This is to ensure the safety of our patients, their families, and our staff. Please expect a possible delayed opening, or all-day closing, for Wednesday, January 28.
