We sincerely hope that everyone and their families are staying safe and healthy during this unusual time. Due to the increase of infection rates throughout Texas and the United Sates it is now necessary to wear a face covering when in our office. Please understand that this is for the health and safety of everyone in the battle against this sneaky and devastating virus.

For the safety of all who enter our office we have added extra measures such as etiquette signage, plexiglass barriers and partitions, rearranging our reception area for social distancing, and adding the use of a disinfecting device to deeply penetrate porous surfaces. As we've always done in the past, we'll keep our office disinfected throughout the day along with the availability of hand-sanitizer and soap dispensers.

Please understand some of the "new normal" policies may be inconvenient, but we are following the regulations and guidelines of the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE), Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) American Dental Association (ADA), and American Association of Orthodontists (AAO). As of August 25, 2020 the Emergency Rule put in place by the TSDBE has been extended until 23 DEC 2020.

 For Your Safety

- The health of Dr. Wood and all our staff will be assessed twice daily along with temperature and health checks.  Also, we will be wearing face coverings at all times unless behind safety barriers.
- All patients will be verbally screened before an appointment is scheduled. For the safety of all please reschedule your appointment when you do not feel well.
- Please notify us if you or an immediate family member has had to self-quarantine.
- Face coverings will be necessary for all who enter our office. 
- Appointments will be scheduled to minimize possible contact with other patients.
- There will be a limit of only 2 family members in the treatment area at one time. If a family consists of more than 2 patients it will be necessary to rotate them between the treatment and reception areas.
- All persons entering the building will be subject to in-office screening and temperature checks. Without exception temperatures must be less than 100.0oF to remain in the building.
- Out of an abundance of caution any person sniffling, coughing, or 
exhibiting any other COVID-19 symptoms will be asked to leave the building.
- Per the Emergency Rule patients need to use a prescription 
disinfecting  rinse prior to certain treatments.  We'll dispense the rinse when we seat the patient.

 Questions About the "New Normal" 

Q: Do I have to wear a mask or face covering in the building?
A: Please!  Due to the fluctuation of cases, especially with flu season coming, we are implementing face coverings for all who enter our building.

Q: What is I forget my face covering?
A: No worries, we'll supply you a face mask to wear while in our building.

Q: Do I have to do the prescription rinse?
A: The State Dental Board Emergency Rule requires patients use a pre-treatment rinse.  It's a mint flavored 30 second rinse that temporarily disinfects the mouth.  

Q: Can I bring my BFF or family guests?
A: Please do not bring your BFF or guests. Seating will be limited due to social distancing and the need to minimize the occupancy number in the building for the safety of all. Guests will not be allowed in the treatment area.

Q: If I have 2 or more children in treatment can I bring/schedule them together?
A: Yes, but only 2 within the same family will be allowed into the treatment area at one time. Within the same family, this can be 1 parent and 1 patient, or 2 patients. Others will need to wait in the reception area until one leaves the treatment area.

Q: Can I bring my infant, toddler, or 85 year old grandparent?
A: We strongly discourage bringing any family member that is in a high risk group, e.g. infants, immunocompromised health, elderly, etc.

Q: My child is/I am in a high risk group.  What should I do?
A: We currently have a special day each month for our high risk group patients.  This will be limited and strictly enforced to those in that group.

Q: If I wait in the reception area will I need my temperature taken?
A: ALL persons entering the building will be subject to screening as deemed necessary.  ALL entering the treatment area will be screened - no exceptions.

Q: My temperature is 100.0oF or higher.  What should I do?
A: Stay home and get healthy, we'll see you when you're better.

Q: What should I do if I've been exposed to a friend or family member who has symptoms or tested positive?
A:  Let us know and we'll get you rescheduled, and please notify your primary physician.
