SureSmile is wonderful cutting-edge technology and is used in conjunction with metal or clear braces. It is through this optional advanced technology we can offer as a standard of care the ability to design your wires and plan your tooth movement without you even being in the office. All the treatment is done through the computers at our office and SureSmile headquarters. You can also be an active participant in designing your own wires and see your potential final result.
We use a robot located in Richardson, Texas to bend your custom hi-tech wires to achieve the desired tooth movements and in turn this can decrease your overall treatment time by 4-8 months over traditional braces and wires. This can result in a final result involving fewer appointments in a shorter period of time
With most patients we do the initial alignment of the teeth and then scan their teeth with either a handheld scanner that does not emit radiation or using our i-CAT x-ray machine. Dr. Wood can discuss with you the options and advantages of each technique. For some patients we can place all the braces and then within six weeks place their first custom wires. The patients that can be treated this way are saving 8-10 months off their total treatment time. Wow! What a time savings for you.
