Dr. Steve Wood is a second generation specialist in orthodontics from the Parker County area and has been performing the highest standards in orthodontics for over 16 years. He earned his dental degree from the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond before completing his certification in orthodontics, as well as earning a master’s degree in Oral Biology at the University of Maryland in Baltimore.
An active member in the orthodontic and dental community, Dr. Wood is also a member of many leading dental organizations, including the American Association of Orthodontists, Southwest Society of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, Fort Worth District Dental Society, International College of Dentists and American College of Dentists.
Giving back to our community is very important to Dr. Wood. He enjoys volunteering his time to various local organizations and is a participating member of the Weatherford College Foundation, Weatherford Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club of Weatherford, Texas. Also, he is happy to support local organizational fund-raising events throughout the year.
As a father of four, Dr. Wood enjoys time with his wife and children, ages 15, 8, 8 and 2. A former 7-time All-American swimmer and 1980, 1984 Olympic Trial qualifier at Auburn University Dr. Wood continues to be an active competitive swimmer in USA and USMS swimming and has set more than 14 master world records for his age groups. He also enjoys cycling, running, triathlons, and wood working.
For him, Dr. Wood believes his career in orthodontics has been rewarding because it is fun to watch each patient grow, to be a part of their lives and an intricate part of each individual's smile. A great smile often builds one's self esteem and self-confidence.
